DESCRIPTION:REVOLUTIONARY SNAKE ENSEMBLE returns to Regattabar for the party that is a Boston Mardi Gras tradition - you will not want to miss it! This show has sold out repeatedly in past years - get your tickets early!!\n\n\n\nDue to weekday construction at the Charles Hotel\, the party has been moved from Mardi Gras night to the preceding Friday\, which should make it easier for everyone!\n\n\n\nThe show will feature New Orleans veteran saxophonist AMADEE CASTENELL\, whose numerous credits include Dr. John\, The Neville Bros\, Allen Toussaint\, Elvis Costello\, and many others. Also joining the band for several pieces will be electrifying vocalist & New Orleans legend HENRI SMITH.\n\n\n\nAMADEE CASTENELL is a premier tenor saxophonist and flautist who has been nurtured by 30 years of playing in the rich multi-layered music scene of New Orleans. A long-time member of the Allen Toussaint Orchestra\, he was musical director from 1974-1983 of RCA recording artists Chocolate Milk\, with whom he recorded 8 albums. He has also performed and recorded with Dr. John\, Robbie Robertson\, Lee Dorsey\, The Neville Bros\, Elvis Costello\, Paul Simon\, Erma Thomas\, Paul McCartney\, Wynton Marsalis\, Bonnie Raitt\, Boz Scaggs\, Don Henley\, Gladys Knight\, Billy Joel\, and others.\n\n\n\nVocalist HENRI SMITH has been thrilling New Orleans audiences for years with his sophisticated swing and dramatic delivery of jazz\, blues\, and Cajun flavored music. He relocated to Massachusetts in 2005 after losing his home to Katrina. New Orleans born and bred\, Smith has long been a radio personality on the legendary WWOZ\, where his radio show featured the contemporary jazz that he loves and now sings professionally. With many connections in the music world\, he frequently served as emcee and vocalist at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for artists such as Kermit Ruffins and Ellis Marsalis.
